Career
In 2002, I graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Anthropology. I worked in a number of industries before I was married and began having children.
When my youngest entered Kindergarten I went back to work part time for a local financial planner. It was the exposure to this field of work coupled with the enjoyment I experienced managing our own personal finances and investments that ultimately led me to aspire to earn my master’s degree in accountancy. As part of my degree I interned at Grant Thornton, a global public accounting firm. Upon completion of the program I was hired as a Tax Associate in Grant Thornton's Silicon Valley office. While working full time I studied hard and passed the four rigorous exams to earn my CPA License.
During my time at the firm, I was exposed to various areas of tax and realized how much I enjoyed doing taxes for individuals. I love to sit down with people to figure out not only how I can use my skills to help them prepare and understand their annual tax return, but also help them plan appropriately for subsequent tax years. The formation of my own practice is a result of this passion.
Personal Interests
My family lives in Soquel and we love this small town! My husband and I have two adult children who are making their way in their careers and education which brings us a lot of joy to observe. I would like to say we are official "empty nesters", but we also have a giant labradoodle who thinks he is a human child. I enjoy mountain biking, eating good food, spending time with family, and traveling. I love a good detective show, true crime, comedies, and listening to podcasts and audio books.
